Wow this thing just went up 14 bucks since I added it to my cart. It was 49 bucks 2 days ago! Just picked one up on sale at home Depo for 37.49. What’s up with the pricing?

First off, living on the Big Island of Hawaii is great, except for the limited supply of almost everything. Most things are overpriced and I do as much shopping online as possible. However, it is my general consensus that shipping almost always costs more than the product. I ordered this burner for homebrewing after the great reviews i’ve read about it both here on Amazon as well as many homebrewing forums.

After my first brew w/ it here is what I can advise:

-Brought 7 gallons in a keggle to a boil in 23 minutes (Starting temp was out of the tap, maybe 68?) Note: Bringing wort straight from the mashtun at 170 would bring a boil very fast.

-Glad I did a test run before the first batch because the paint fumes were horrible for about 20 minutes.

-As mentioned earlier, the burner itself is held on by one screw, its ok except the burner seemed to be pulled down by the weight of the hose, therefore i slid a metal rod over the two side supports and under the burner. It helped to adjust the angle of the flame to a more center spot on the pot.

Conclusion: I am very happy with this purchase. The burner is very powerful and perfect for brewing single or double batches of beer. It was very sturdy and the keggle fit on it great. Play with the air intake to find the optimal settings and this baby will produce a strong flame. Propane use was pretty efficient as well. Finally free shipping is what sold it. Item arrived in 5 days (to HI)top shape. Buy this, you wont regret it.

You couldn’t ask for much more from a propane burner. The frame is rock solid and the burner brings water or oil up to temperature with ease. I’ve brewed a number of batches of beer with it and even fried a couple turkeys. Works great every time.

i have brewed 3 beers so for with this burner and it cuts time down from the stove so much! brings 7.5 gallons of water to a boil in about 12 minutes, and keeps a nice flame the whole 60-75 minutes each boil. i use the lid from my brewkettle to prop against the burner and block the wind, but it’s not really needed.

The one I received was not well made and poorly packaged. It was out of square and the screws attaching the burner to frame had fallen out in transit. Sent it back to Amazon and purchased a Hurricane burner from Williams Brewing – a much higher quality item (more money as well).
